Wow... this is crazy. All the talk about the Nintendo Wiivolution is just insane. Some people think it's a big hoax setting us up for the true name at E3, which others are convinced it's the real thing, and a few of us like myself just don't care what they call it.
I do think of it as being odd that they would unveil the name before E3, and it would be interesting if we were being strung around until some massive announcement at E3.
Either way, they have the internet buzzing like crazy, and what's everyone talking about right now? Not Sony, not Microsoft, but Nintendo. Nintendo is what is on everyone's minds right now in the gaming world, for better or for worse.

Screenshots have popped up for Megaman ZX, the DS followup to the Zero series. I'm curious to see how this turns out, as the only description I read ran 3 pages, but all it told me is that this series takes place after the events of the Zero series. It looks pretty sweet, I just hope it's not as hard as Zero was. Zero made me want to cry.

What is up my fellow gamers!! Just wanted to get things started for the upcoming podcast. We will be recording Episode 22 this Sunday at 4:30pm. We would like to hear your opinion on the topics below so please feel free to chime in. Remember this is a great way for your voice to be heard on the podcast, If you would like to send in audio feedback on the topics, remember to keep it under fifteen seconds.
Episode 22 Topics:
Segment 1: "Remakes" -Are there really some old games that deserve to be remade or is this a lack of innovation on the developers part since stories, characters are already fleshed out.
Segment 2: "Sequel-itis" -Problems with sequels that get made just because the first game was successful. Franchises that flop due to poor innovations. And franchises that have progressively gotten better.
You can send comments, questions, audio feedback and anything else to podcast@snackbar-games.com.
"Wii" oh "Wii" Nintendo? Ok, Wii is actually pronounced "We", but it looks like "Why" to me, which is the thought the name invokes when seeing the announcement that Revolution has become Wii.
We are making a minor IP change to the server that hosts the snackbargames.com domain as well as the forums right now. If the change is permanent I will tell you what you need to do to get to the forums while DNS is propagating. Stay tuned.
Title: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Critical Hour
If you like tactical shooters, like the Rainbow Six series, and you have thirty dollars, then I can safely recommend this game for you.
Wayne wrote:
Looks like the Revolution's "nunchaku" attachment to its controller will also be tilt sensitive. At least, that's the word over at Joystiq. If you ask me, this is pretty neat. It gives you even more control, especially more precise control, and will make it so you can possibly look in one direction and shoot in another in an FPS title. This seems quite neat to me.
Every time I turn around I see more and more reason for why I want a Revolution. Why is that exactly?
Wayne wrote:
Since the Revolution's announcement of its controls, I knew that Monkeyball would be on it. I personally hated using a joystick for Monkeyball, because it wasn't precise enough for my needs. The new controls will be perfectly suited to the game, and I'm glad that it's finally confirmed.

The GBA Cover Project has long since morphed into it's own entity with covers from all sorts of platforms. We have reached an impressive milestone recently with breaking the 1000 cover marke (1017 currently) as well as having done just over half of the available N64 games. You can read a little more about it on CAG.

I never got a chance to play the original Full Spectrum Warrior, but I did spend quite a bit of time playing Ten Hammers last night on my Xbox. Typically tactical military games are really not my thing, but I gave Ten Hammers a shot anyway. Coming from a run and gun type background I really had a hard time adapting to the strategic squad based gameplay. While the game really isn't appealing to me in that sense the realism is just amazing. When a soldier goes down you can drag him behind cover or carry him back to get medical help. So far I am enjoying it and a full review is on the horizon from me or one of the other staff writers.

Title: SOCOM 3 U.S. Navy Seals
While Socom 3 isnt the Xbox 360 version of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, its still a decent game.
Title: Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders
Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders is a fantasy war game for those that crave a health dose of both action and strategy, and want to enjoy a good yarn whilst doing it.
Title: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced WarFighter
Whether there is an awesome 360 version or not, GRAW for the PS2 is a terrible game, that should have been aborted.
Title: Fight Night Round 3
Fight Night Round 3 is a great mix of arcade and simulation, perfectly blended.

I love Command and Conquer as a series. I love it dearly. But the news of a 3rd entry in the main series is very dissapointing to me, because as far as I can tell, none of the original staff are going to be involved in it.
For those of you who don't know, the studio that made all of the original Command and Conquer games, Westwood, was broken up by EA while they were working on the original 3rd game to the series. Much of the old staff have moved on to form Petroglyph, who made Star Wars: Empire at War.
I don't have much faith in the series without Westwood. The one non-Westwood C&C game, Generals, wasn't awful, but it certainly lacked the magic I had come to expect from the series. I'm hoping for the best and fully expecting the worst here, folks.

Dots and I loved Destroy All Humans so a sequel on the way is great news. There is nothing quite as fun as being an alien during an invasion and taking out lots of stupid humans.
If this holds to be true, it could single handedly justify the purchase of my 360.
The original Earthworm Jim team, the one that created the first blockbuster title on the 16-bit systems, has regrouped. It's working to unearth Jim for the next generation.

I must say that I am not a fan of the PS2, but yesterday I played the most addictive game ever. Guitar Hero is the coolest game I have ever played. I would suggest that everyone go out an buy it. Invite some friends over, turn up the volume to full blast, and go nuts. This game is so much fun. I also just read on IGN's front page, that they are in the process of making Guitar Hero II. I'm all over it!
In other news, I hope everyone had a great Easter. I spent most of my day playing video games. Guitar Hero being one of them. Mike and I will have the podcast up Wednesday. We thank everyone for their feedback on the topic of downloading content. It truly helped! Thanks everyone, staye tuned!

Just an FYI to all our Aussie readers about a World Record setting Water Balloon challenge that Microsoft is setting up to celebrate the launch of the 360 Down Under. The event does cost $20, but you get a "Challenge Pack" that includes a game and some other cool 360 schwag. You can find more details here

You can email us at podcast@snackbar-games.com, or send us your audio feedback. Please keep the audio feedback clean and under ten seconds. And you can also sound off in the forums and have your feedback read over the cast.
The upcoming topic that we will be tackling on our next podcast will be the following:
"The Future of Microtransactions/Downloadable Content" - So we all know what this is and really, it would be cool to get your takes on the idea of more developers moving to this style of game distribution. Is it possible that the future will be represented in buying a full game piece by piece? Is it really worth spending a few dollars on adding additional missions, weapons, areas, quests? s it worth it? Downloading extra content like weapons, maps, clothes, armor, etc., is it really worth downloading and spending 5-10 bucks? Does this expand the gaming experience or just take money out of your pockets. Is this becoming the next virtual barbie playhouse?
We would love to hear everyones opinion on this matter. So please participate on our podcast and be heard.

I've never been a huge fan of the Fragdolls. I'm no opponent of good looking women, espescially those who like to play games, but they always seemed so cheezy and artificial. Probably not, but Lucent has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft for patent infringement in relation to the MPEG2 decoder in the 360. I doubt we'll see 360's disappear again. It's more likely that Microsoft will be just settling out of court on this one.

While it was reported that many Best Buy's have them, I myself was in Target last night, and if it wasn't for my upcoming wedding and all of my credit cards being maxxed out, I would have picked one up.
Target had about six or seven 360's with a couple of them being the premium packages. If my local Target had them, I'm sure more of them have them in stock.
So, to those of you with $500 burning a hole in your pocket in anticipation of finding a 360, keep looking around. It's looking like the rarity of one has dropped from diamond status down to gold.
Now my gaming minions... SWARM!!!

DETROIT — A federal judge has ruled that a state law that bars retailers from selling or renting violent video games to minors is unconstitutional.
I am partially glad for this. Instead of using laws to control media and our children's exposure to them I believe we should be self policing. When I say that, I mean from an industry standpoint as well as a parenting standpoint.

Kotaku is carrying a story about how Best Buy is proclaiming to have lots of Xbox 360s. I can attest to this as the new Best Buy at La Cantera here in San Antonio had about 50 systems yesterday morning. One seems to have found it's way into my car. Start checking with your local retailers as these things should be a little easier to come by starting this week.

So it didn't even dawn on me that it was April Fools Day yesterday. I had just gotten home with my computer and hooked it up to my new 19" Widescreen LCD and was basking in it's beauty. I am feeling rather sheepish now as I shouldn't have been so quick to leap for joy at the idea of a new Starcraft game. Oh well, I got taken and I'm not too proud to admit it.
